Leadership 

Objective: to equip leaders with the structures and skills to effectively bring about change.

Strategic Leads 

Leaders with the skills and abilities to bring about rapid change in schools where there are challenging circumstances. They may undertake diagnostic activities to determine what needs to be done and will utliise School Leads and Lead Practitioners to enable this to happen. An example may be the Headteacher working with a school where leadership is not yet goof or a Governor working to resolve a complex personnel issue. The support may manage crisis periods but will also develop sustainable improvement capacity.

Curriculum

Objective: To standardise approaches to the wider curriculum and the Early Years.

School Leads

Middle and Senior Leaders who have experience of making improvements in outcomes. They will be able to evaluate the practice of colleagues and set targets for development. School leads will coach and mentor in other schools to bring about changes in an area of the school, for example across Key Stage 2 or the Early YEars or in the Administration area of a school. School leads will implement structures and systems to enable the effective functioning and improved practice of practitioners within the area.

Teaching

Objective: to improve outcomes for pupils through the delivery of structured teaching approaches.

Lead Practitioners 

Outstanding practitioners with a teaching specialism. They will have the skills to support individuals or teams in similar positions.  They will facilitate peer-to-peer learning in a pre-determined area. An example may be a Year 1 teacher who has extensive knowledge of how to plan an enquiry-based curriculum or a teaching assistant who delivers intervention programmes to underachieving pupils. Support will be provided largely on-site through observations, discussions or shared planning activities. This will include training NQTs.
