How We Care For Your Child

At Sedgefield Hardwick, we are fully committed to working closely with children and their families in order to ensure that the social, emotional and mental health needs of all within our school community are met. We place a great emphasis upon the holistic education of our children, and our character curriculum ensures that attributes and traits such as honesty, co-operation and self-awareness are taught, valued and celebrated just as much as our academic achievements. As well as our expertise within school, we regularly work with a wider network of professionals and can draw upon their expertise in school when needed to support our children.

We are incredibly proud of the high standards and expectations of behaviour exhibited by our children in school, and this was noted in our latest Ofsted visit. Great care is taken to develop positive, lasting relationships between all members of our school community, and our children take great pride in their role in this and feel safe whilst at school.

Medical Care Plan Forms

If your child requires medicine to be stored in school, please download and complete the medical care plan form below and bring it to school along with the medicine.

If You Have Any Concerns

If you have concerns about your child’s learning, friendships or issues linked to the school day, please speak to your child’s class teacher first, who will be able to help with and resolve most concerns. If there is a need to refer the concerns on to somebody else, your child’s class teacher will also be able to do that.

In the rare event that your child’s class teacher has not been able to help you with your concerns, please contact one of the following members of our Leadership Team, via the school office on 01740 620041.

Nursery & Reception – Mrs Roach

Years 1 & 2 – Mr Close

Years 3 – 6 – Mr Steel

If your concerns are related to special educational needs, please contact Mr Close (SENCO).

If these staff members are unavailable or unable to assist you further, you will be referred to Mr Taylor, the Head Teacher.
