Our Offer

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Our indoor and outdoor learning environments are safe, enriching, interesting and full of opportunities and experiences that stimulate and extend children’s learning.

The safe and stimulating environments enable our pupils to express themselves and grow into socially confident learners, who are resilient, adaptive, creative and emotionally intelligent members of our school, community and society.

We offer new learning opportunities and experiences each week alongside the rich open-ended provision we continually provide, and we pride ourselves on providing resources of the highest quality. We believe that the quality of the environment and the resourcing offered, implicitly conveys to our pupils that we care and value their play and learning.

PLACES & HOURS

We offer places to pupils who are 3 and 4-years-old. Our offer is a fully flexible offer for pupils entitled to 15-hours free childcare and 30-hours free childcare. We will always do all we can to provide the sessions you need to support your family circumstances and we pride ourselves on being inclusive of all need. We also provide a hot meal through our school kitchen team, should your child want one. If not, they are welcome to bring their own packed lunch.

We also provide Breakfast Club, After-School Club and a Holiday Club through IN2.

EXPERTS

Our staff team are highly trained, experienced and knowledgeable about child development and play skills. The staff continually undertake extensive training to develop their expertise so that they can further children’s learning through the many interactions they have with them each day.

We recognise and understand that most interactions occur through play in nursery, and it is through play that our youngest pupils learn best. During play, our staff team teach skills and knowledge, pose questions which require pupils to think deeply and support language acquisition, all whilst playing alongside your child. We believe play provides our pupils with the opportunity to explore, be active, solve problems, work together and create through their own interests.

In nursery, there are also periods of each session which are more structured. During these short, structured periods, the staff team skilfully share stories, support listening skills and teach pupils early maths and early phonics skills which prepare pupils well for school.

PARENTS/CARERS & THIRD PARTY SERVICES

We endeavour to develop strong and enduring positive relationships with all the parents and carers of pupils who attend our nursery. We believe a strong and proactive partnership between parents/carers and nursery is the most effective way to support pupil learning and development, often with long lasting and beneficial effects on children’s well-being. We actively encourage parents, carers and families to be involved with, and supportive of all that we do in nursery.

We also have strong partnerships with a number of external services from both a Health and Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) perspective. Again, these strong relationships exist to aid the learning and development of your child and referrals to external services are always made with parental/carer involvement and agreement. Please see our SEND page for more information.

EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS

In addition to the strong relationships we foster with our parents/carers, we also have well developed partnerships with experts, community leaders and external providers who we visit. These partnerships add to the curriculum and experiences we offer, providing a rich set of experiences for our pupils that promote an understanding of, and respect for, culture, people, families and communities beyond their own.
